WHAT IS ZIP?
Zip is a logic puzzle played on a square grid. Starting at 1, draw a continuous path through the numbered checkpoints in ascending order and finish at the highest number. Your route must cover every cell exactly once. The challenge is that a connection between two numbers can look correct while trapping unused cells elsewhere. You need to plan both the next step and the space left behind. This version includes Daily puzzles, an Archive, and Unlimited boards.
HOW TO COMPLETE A ZIP PUZZLE
Follow the Numbers and Fill Every Cell
Move horizontally or vertically between neighboring cells. Never go diagonally, revisit a cell, or cross a wall. Reach each checkpoint in order, finishing at the highest number only after filling the grid.
You can pass through several empty cells between consecutive numbers. The numbers indicate sequence, not calculations.
Draw and Edit Your Path
Press and hold on 1, then drag through adjacent cells. Drag backward to erase, or press an existing path cell to cut the route there.
Undo reverses one complete drag action. Clear removes the path.

Daily: A New Board Each Day
Daily refreshes at midnight in your device’s timezone. Completing the puzzle on its scheduled day builds your streak. Grids grow from 6×6 early in the week to 7×7 midweek and 8×8 at the weekend.
Archive: Revisit Earlier Challenges
Choose previous Daily puzzles from a calendar beginning January 1, 2026. Calendar markings distinguish completed boards from those you have started.
Unlimited: Choose Your Own Challenge
Select New board, choose your settings, then press Start board. Sizes range from 5×5 to 8×8, independently of difficulty.
- Easy: Checkpoints are closer together, with no walls.
- Medium: Checkpoints are farther apart, with some walls.
- Hard: Longer routes between checkpoints and more walls require careful planning.
HINTS, TIME, AND PERSONAL PROGRESS
Hints That Explain the Next Step
Hint can mark a wrong turn, explain a forced move, or reveal a few upcoming cells when no forced move is available. It supports deduction rather than simply editing your route.
Track Your Solving Progress
Daily statistics track completed puzzles, current and best streaks, fastest and average times, and results without hints. Unlimited statistics appear separately.
The timer measures elapsed time and continues when hidden. Progress is saved on your device; settings include themes, sound, and vibration on supported phones.
HOW TO FIND THE RIGHT PATH
- Start With Corners and Narrow Passages: These areas have fewer possible connections, helping you identify forced sections.
- Keep Unused Cells Connected: Avoid isolating empty cells or splitting them into disconnected regions. Leave enough access for the remaining route.
- Plan Beyond the Next Number: Consider how you will leave each checkpoint. A short connection may block a passage needed later, making a longer detour necessary.
