Dordle

Dordle challenges you to solve two five-letter words in seven shared guesses. Read both boards carefully and make every move count.

HOW TO PLAY DORDLE

Type a valid five-letter word and press Enter. Your guess appears on both boards at once, but each board gives its own color clues:

• Green: The letter is in the correct position on that board.
• Yellow: The letter appears in that word but belongs in another position.
• Gray: The letter does not appear in that word.

You win by finding both hidden words within seven guesses in total. A gray letter on one board may still be useful on the other, so read the results separately.

Controls

• Keyboard: Type a five-letter word.
• Enter: Submit your guess.
• Backspace: Remove letters before submitting.

One Guess, Two Different Clues

Imagine the left answer is PLANT and the right answer is SHORE. You enter CRANE.

On the left board, A and N turn green: they are in the third and fourth positions of PLANT. On the right board, R turns yellow because it belongs in SHORE but not in the second position. E turns green in the fifth position. One guess has moved both puzzles forward in different ways.

What Happens After You Solve One Word?

The completed board freezes. Your remaining guesses go toward the unsolved word, so you can focus on its clues without losing track of the answer you have found.

The on-screen keyboard also displays clues for the two boards separately. Check which side a color belongs to before ruling out a letter.

CHOOSE A DORDLE GAME MODE

Daily Dordle gives players the same pair of words for the day. Free Play offers unlimited random pairs when you want another round.

For a different challenge, try Sequence. Its second board stays hidden until you solve the first, and you have nine guesses overall. In Rescue, three guesses have already been played, leaving you four turns to finish the puzzle. Archive lets you revisit past daily puzzles.

MAKE EACH GUESS WORK FOR BOTH BOARDS

Early guesses are most useful when they test common letters across both unsolved words. After each turn, look for a word that follows the clues you already have while checking letters that remain uncertain on the other board.

Avoid concentrating on one promising answer too soon. If you have several guesses left, a word that reveals new information on both sides may help more than a guess aimed at only one. Once a board is complete, switch your attention to the remaining word and use every clue you have collected.
