ABOUT HEARDLE UNLIMITED

Heardle Unlimited is a music guessing game that challenges you to identify a song from a short audio clip. You begin with just one second of music and have six attempts to select the correct artist and title. Each wrong guess or skipped turn reveals more audio. The clip may come from a recognizable section of the song rather than its opening, so listen for vocals, instruments, and familiar rhythms.

Listen, Search, and Submit

Press Play to hear the available clip. Type part of a song title or an artist’s name into the search box, select a result from the suggestions, and press Submit.

If your answer is wrong, more audio becomes available. You can also select Skip when you need a longer clip before making a decision. Both actions use one attempt.

The total listening time increases through six stages: 1, 2, 4, 7, 11, and 16 seconds. These are the full clip lengths available at each stage, not extra seconds added individually. Identify the song within six attempts to win; otherwise, the round ends and reveals the answer.

Understand the Feedback

Each submitted guess receives a response:

• Green: You found the correct song.
• Yellow: You selected the right artist but the wrong song.
• Red: Your guess is incorrect.
• Gray: You skipped the attempt.

A yellow result narrows your search, but you still need the exact song to finish the puzzle.

A Quick Guessing Example

Suppose the hidden song is Shake It Off by Taylor Swift. You first select Blank Space by Taylor Swift and receive yellow feedback. That confirms the artist. With two seconds available on your next attempt, you recognize the track, select Shake It Off, and win.

DAILY, UNLIMITED, OR A PAST PUZZLE?

Daily Challenge

Daily mode gives everyone the same song for that day. A new puzzle becomes available at midnight in your local time zone. Your results contribute to your daily streak, and you can share a score grid without revealing the answer.

Unlimited Playlists

Unlimited mode lets you continue with another song after finishing a round. Choose All songs or explore playlists organized by decade, genre, or theme. Options include the 80s, 90s, 2000s, Pop, Rock, Hip-Hop, and Christmas. Unlimited tracks its own results, so these rounds do not affect your Daily streak.

Archive Puzzles

Open Archive to select an earlier Daily puzzle from the calendar. This offers a way to catch up on missed challenges without changing your current Daily streak.

MAKE THE MOST OF EACH LISTEN

• Listen for distinctive sounds. A voice, guitar tone, or drum pattern may help you identify the artist before you recognize the melody.
• Use yellow feedback. Search the confirmed artist and consider which song matches the clip.
• Skip with a purpose. When you have no useful lead, unlock more audio before choosing a song at random.
