DALL-E-DLE: DECODE THE AI IMAGE IN FOUR GUESSES

DALL-E-dle is a daily word puzzle created by Ashutosh Sanzgiri. Each challenge presents a DALL-E-generated image representing a hidden five-letter English word. Your task is to identify that word using the picture and the colored feedback revealed after each guess.

The visual clue comes with a trade-off: you get only four attempts. Recognizing something in the image provides a starting point, but finding the exact word requires careful interpretation. A picture might suggest several related words, and only one will match the answer.

HOW TO PLAY DALL-E-DLE

Examine the Image

Start by studying the main subject and its most noticeable details. Consider what the picture could represent, then think of five-letter words that fit. Look beyond the first object you recognize: the overall scene may suggest a different meaning.

You are looking for a single word, so there is no need to recreate the image’s full description or write an AI prompt.

Submit a Five-Letter Guess

Use the on-screen keyboard to enter your chosen word. Select Enter to submit it, or Delete to remove a letter before sending your guess.

Each submitted guess receives colored feedback. Find the hidden word within four attempts to complete the puzzle successfully.

Read the Letter Colors

The tiles follow familiar Wordle rules:

  • Green: The letter is correct and in the right position.
  • Yellow: The letter appears in the answer but belongs in another position.
  • Gray: The letter is absent, or an extra occurrence of a repeated letter is not needed.

Use this feedback to narrow your options. A word that matches the image still needs to fit every confirmed letter and position.

WHY THE IMAGE CAN BE MISLEADING

The picture is a clue rather than a precise definition. You might recognize its subject immediately yet choose a different word from the one the puzzle expects. Related meanings, alternative names, and unusual visual details can all lead your thinking in different directions.

For example, imagine a picture of a crown. As a hypothetical clue, it could make you consider CROWN, ROYAL, or JEWEL. All contain five letters and connect to the image, but letter feedback would help determine which interpretation fits.

This is where DALL-E-dle gains its depth. The image helps you generate possibilities, while the colored tiles test them. If your guesses keep conflicting with the feedback, reconsider what the image represents instead of forcing your first interpretation.

DALL-E-DLE VS. WORDLE

DALL-E-dle keeps Wordle’s five-letter answers and colored feedback while changing the information available at the start.

The extra clue does not make every puzzle straightforward. A recognizable image may help you solve quickly, while an ambiguous one can leave several convincing possibilities. The shorter guessing limit makes choosing between those possibilities especially important.
