CarGuesser

CarGuesser turns vehicle photos into a daily identification challenge. Work out the brand, model, and year in Classic Mode, or identify five car brands against the clock in Quick Mode. The game is free to access in your browser, with no login required.

ABOUT CARGUESSER

Car Guesser is a daily car identification game created by mmmintdesign. Inspired by “dle” puzzles, it replaces word guessing with visual clues about real vehicles. Recognizing a manufacturer is only part of the challenge: Classic also tests whether you can identify the model and year.

The developer originally created the game because they wanted a car guessing experience that matched their interests.

CLASSIC MODE: IDENTIFY THE BRAND, MODEL, AND YEAR

Classic gives you unlimited attempts to identify the vehicle. However, using fewer guesses earns you more points, so careful observation still matters.

Follow the Photo Clues

The tested puzzle contained six photo slots, with only the first image available at the start. Study the visible details, then use the answer field to make your guess. Typing a brand name brings up suggestions to help you select an entry.

An incorrect brand guess unlocks another photo, giving you more information to examine. Use the photo arrows or selection buttons to revisit available images and compare details before trying again.

The Previous Attempts panel records your answers, helping you avoid repeating the same guess.

Understand Skip and Scoring

If the current image offers little useful information, Skip opens another photo clue. It keeps you on the same vehicle and adds a “Skipped” entry to your attempt history.

During testing, both an incorrect guess and a skipped attempt displayed a 50-point deduction. Treat that as an observed penalty rather than a complete explanation of the scoring formula. The main principle is straightforward: solve the vehicle with fewer attempts to preserve more points.

QUICK MODE: FIVE CARS IN 60 SECONDS

Quick Mode focuses on recognizing manufacturers under time pressure. Each question presents a vehicle image and four brand choices. Select the manufacturer you think matches the picture.

You do not need to enter the model or year here. The challenge comes from making accurate decisions quickly: a rushed mistake reduces the time available for the remaining cars.

Quick is a useful starting point if you mainly recognize manufacturers. Choose Classic when you want to examine photos more closely and test your knowledge beyond the badge.

DAILY PUZZLES AND EXTRA FEATURES

The calendar lets you access daily challenges from the previous two weeks, while a countdown shows when the next puzzle becomes available.

Other interface features include:

  • Streak counter: Displays your current streak.
  • Sound control: Lets you turn audio on or off.
  • Light and dark themes: Offers a choice of display styles.
  • Photo navigation: Lets you move between unlocked Classic clues.

One practical limitation concerns the source material. The game notes that its data comes automatically from US sources, so model names and images can occasionally vary or be incorrect. Some photos may also contain dealership advertising.
