Obscordle

Obscordle is a daily word puzzle in which you have six attempts to find a hidden five-letter word. It uses familiar color clues, but its answer pool adds a challenge: any word accepted as a guess could also be the answer.

WHAT MAKES OBSCORDLE DIFFERENT?

In many Wordle-style games, players can guess more words than the game would choose as answers. Obscordle removes that distinction. A word that seems too unusual to be the solution may still be the one you need to find.

This changes how you approach the later guesses. You cannot dismiss a word simply because it is unfamiliar; it must also fit the clues you have uncovered. A new Obscordle puzzle is available each day.

HOW TO PLAY OBSCORDLE

Type a valid five-letter word and press Enter. After each guess, the tiles change color:

Green: The letter is in the correct position.
Yellow: The letter is in the word but belongs in another position.
Gray: The letter does not match the answer as used in that guess.

Use the feedback to choose your next word. If a guess contains repeated letters, read their colors together before ruling a letter out. You win by finding the answer within six guesses.

Make Each Guess Count

Start with a word containing different letters to test several possibilities at once. Keep green letters in place, try yellow letters in new positions, and use what you have learned to narrow your options.

Near the end, focus on words that satisfy all the clues, even if some look unfamiliar. In Obscordle, an accepted guess is a possible answer.

Change the Way You Play

You can turn on Hard Mode to require revealed hints in subsequent guesses. The settings also offer a Dark Theme and High Contrast Mode for different display preferences.
