WHAT IS OMINO?
Omino is a word puzzle game that challenges you to arrange a collection of letter tiles into words on a 7×7 grid. Your goal is to make as many useful words as possible and earn the highest score from the available tiles.
Omino offers both a Daily Game and a Random Game, so you can play a fixed puzzle each day or generate another challenge whenever you want. The target score is 50 points, although the final result can vary depending on the grid and the words you manage to create. According to the game's score guide, 60 points is excellent, 70 is amazing, and 80 is considered off the chart.
How to Play Omino
Start by dragging the letter tiles onto the grid and arranging them to create words. You can rotate a tile with the ROTATE TILE button or press R on your keyboard. Once every tile has been placed, click SCORE to calculate your result.
Omino uses a simple scoring system based on word length. Two- and three-letter words score 1 and 3 points, while four-, five-, six-, and seven-letter words score 6, 10, 15, and 21 points respectively. You can also use the ? tile as a wild letter once, while the ● tile can create an empty space twice.
Tips for Getting a Higher Score
Look for opportunities to create longer words rather than filling the grid with only short words. Since a seven-letter word is worth 21 points, finding a few longer combinations can make a significant difference. It is also useful to rotate tiles before committing them to the grid, as changing their orientation may reveal better word combinations.
There is no traditional win-or-lose screen in Omino. Instead, the challenge is to beat the 50-point target and improve your score, making each puzzle a test of vocabulary, planning, and spatial arrangement.
