Not Wordle challenges you to find a hidden five-letter word within six tries. Enter a guess, then use the changing tile colors to plan your next move.

Green means a letter is in the correct position, yellow means it belongs elsewhere in the word, and gray means it is not in the answer.

How Is Not Wordle Different From Wordle?

Not Wordle is an independent, open-source clone of Wordle. Despite its name, the goal is not reversed: you still try to guess a hidden five-letter word in six attempts using colored letter clues.

The two games use different answer sets, so you should treat each puzzle as a separate challenge.

HOW TO PLAY

1. Type a five-letter word using your keyboard or the on-screen keys.
2. Use Delete to correct a letter before submitting your word.
3. Press Enter to reveal the tile colors.
4. Use the clues to adjust your next guess and find the answer within six tries.

Tips for Smarter Guesses

Start with a word that tests several common letters, such as SLATE or CRANE. If it reveals few clues, try a different set of letters on your next turn instead of repeating ones you have ruled out.

When only a few answers seem possible, compare the letters that differ between them. Choose a guess that helps you test those differences while you still have attempts left.
