Bordle challenges you to solve a five-position word puzzle in six guesses. Each answer contains a special B symbol that looks like the letter B but can represent another letter. That small change makes you think about both the word and where the symbol belongs.

WHAT DOES THE SPECIAL B SYMBOL MEAN?

The symbol is part of the answer’s displayed pattern. It does not always stand for an ordinary B, and the game gives it a separate key on the on-screen keyboard.

Two past answers show how it works. In a pattern corresponding to DUSTY, the special B appears in the fourth position and represents T. In another corresponding to BOUGH, it appears in the first position and represents B. Its position and meaning can change from one puzzle to the next.

GAMEPLAY: FOLLOW THE CLUES ACROSS SIX GUESSES

Enter a five-position guess and press Enter. After each attempt, the tiles change color:

• Green means a character is in the correct position.
• Yellow means it appears in the answer but belongs elsewhere.
• Gray means it is not in the answer.

Use the results to narrow down your next guess. Keep confirmed characters in mind, reconsider those marked yellow, and pay attention to the special B key rather than treating it as the regular letter B. You have six attempts to find the answer, with a new puzzle available each day.

A Tip for Solving the Special B

When you recognize a possible word, check where the special symbol could appear in its pattern. The DUSTY example shows why guessing the underlying word alone is not the whole puzzle: its displayed answer uses the special B in place of T.
