ABOUT GNT WORDLE

GNT Wordle is a Wordle-style game built around vocabulary from the Greek New Testament. Instead of guessing an English word, you need to identify a five-letter Biblical Greek word found in the SBL Greek New Testament (SBLGNT).

The familiar six-row board makes the basic challenge easy to understand, while the Greek vocabulary gives it a very different feel from standard Wordle. It is particularly suited to players studying Koine Greek, reading the New Testament in Greek, or simply looking for a more specialized word puzzle.

HOW TO PLAY

You have six attempts to find the hidden five-letter word. Enter a valid Greek word and press Enter to submit it. The tiles then change color to show what you have learned from that guess.

Understand the Tile Colors

• Green: The letter is correct and in the right position.
• Yellow: The letter appears in the answer but belongs somewhere else.
• Gray: The letter does not match the remaining letters in the answer.

Use each result to narrow the possibilities. Keep green letters in place, reposition yellow letters, and reconsider letters that have been ruled out.

You can use the Greek keyboard displayed on the game screen to enter letters. Backspace removes a letter before you submit your guess.

WHAT MAKES GNT WORDLE DIFFERENT?

The main difference is not the Wordle format but the vocabulary behind it.

Words Come From the Greek New Testament

GNT stands for Greek New Testament, and the game's five-letter word list comes from the SBLGNT. This means you are working with Biblical or Koine Greek rather than general Modern Greek vocabulary.

The accepted words can include forms that actually appear in the text. You therefore should not limit yourself to the dictionary form of a familiar noun or verb. Inflected forms may also become important when considering possible answers.

No Diacritics Are Required

Greek words in GNT Wordle are entered without diacritics. Accents and breathing marks are not part of the puzzle input, allowing you to focus primarily on the letters and their positions.

This simplifies typing, but recognizing the correct spelling and word form can still make the puzzle challenging.

Because the vocabulary is restricted to the Greek New Testament, knowing a Greek word does not automatically mean the game will accept it.

For learners, it can provide extra practice with word recognition and spelling. However, it works best as a vocabulary challenge rather than a complete Greek-learning resource.
